Summary:
The Assistant/Associate Professor is a full-time, ten-month, tenure track position in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences.
The Assistant/Associate Professor will teach undergraduate level courses related to Family and Consumer Sciences as needed by the Department.
The Assistant/Associate Professor will also develop collaborations with faculty in the Department, College, and University as well as assist with departmental activities and initiatives.

Teach undergraduate level courses.
Advise undergraduate students in the major Coordinate and supervise student field experiences.
Assist with curriculum development activities to include web-based courses to accommodate traditional and nontraditional students.
Participate in continuous assessment of program-level and student learning outcomes.
Develop personal and undergraduate research.
Seek external funds to support program activities and student scholarships.
Participate with student recruitment.
Provide service to the University and professional organizations.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
Ph.
D.
in family studies, child/human development, and/or a related area Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent analytical, oral/written communication skills, and teamwork.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's) Knowledge of Family and Consumer Sciences related concepts and principles, with an emphasis on food and nutrition Good leadership ability Good organizational skillsGood interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to successfully pass a background check.
Preferred:
At least 2 years of teaching experience in child development, family studies, and/ or early development education Experience in early learning care Demonstrated success in research and scholarly activities.

Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and other office equipment, including, but not limited to, the telephone, fax machine, copier Regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear; lift and/or move up to 20 pounds Regularly required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Occasionally lift 20 pounds overhead and 40 pounds from waist to shoulder Specific vision abilities required include close, distant color visions, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
